We are developing sensors based on the microcantilevers using adsorption-induced surface tension. Microcantilever sensors are developed by coupling microcantilever surface modification chemistry with chemical or biomolecular recognition agents for identification of specific biomolecular species. These novel microcantilever sensors have several unique features and advantages, including extremely good sensitivity, miniature size, automatic operation, low-power consumption, and low cost.
